Plying Style Resin Drop Spindle - Hen Feather (2)

Resin top-whorl spindle with a real hen's feather in the whorl.  The spindle has an ash wood shaft.  The whorl is notched to the back of the hook. Total weight is 39g.  This particular spindle whorl was cast in a slightly larger mould than our standard weight spindles, so it's wider, which means it spins slower and for longer than the standard weight ones. It's perfect for plying work, spinning heavier yarns, or for learning on if you're a beginner.  The handmade bronze hook is in a swan-neck style, which balances the yarn properly above the centre of the spindle.  Has been test spun to ensure it has good balance. 

This spindle is supplied with a robust custom-made shipping container, which also acts as a handy carrying case for later.  

The resin used for the whorl contains a UV protectant, however for longest life without yellowing, we recommend that you store your spindle away from direct sunlight.
